LUGGAGE



Articles of house hold effects and personal effects which are required by the passengers during their journey or immediately after the journey will only be accepted for booking as luggage.
Articles of Commercial nature which are carried for the purpose of trade and not intended for the personal use of passengers may not be accepted as luggage.
The following articles are not accepted as luggage:
(i)
 
Offensive articles such as wet skins, hides etc. other than the skin of wild animals securely packed in air tight boxes at owner's risk.
(ii)Explosives, dangerous and inflammable articles.
(iii)Bulky articles which would be chargeable by measurement.
(iv)
 
Oil, grease, ghee, paint, etc. when packed in such containers which will spoil other articles on contact (Ghee upto 20 Kgs. may be carried by passenger in his compartment).
(v)All varieties of dry grasses and leaves and waste paper.
(vi)Dead poultry and game.
(vii)Acids and other corrosive substance.
Certian goods are not acceptable for carriage unless percentage charges are paid. No Railway Administration shall accept for carraige the goods specified in Part-I of Schedule-II of the Coaching Tariff unless the consigner declares the value of such goods and pays the percentage charges applicable to such goods asindicated in column-2 of Schedule-II.

Items not permitted within free allowance and charged separately. The following articles do nto come under purview of free allowance:-
(i)Motor Cycles.
(ii)Scooters, bi-cycles and tri-cycles, invalid chairs TV sets (except one T.V. Set).
These articles should be booked separately and charged separately.
Trunk, suite case and boxes having outside measurement exceeding 100 cm X 60cm X 25 cm should be carried in the brake-van and not in the compartment.
Bulky and heavy luggage is not permitted in AC Chair Car such luggage should be booked in brake-vans in the charge of guard.
 
Theft of Luggage:Passengers are informed that in case of thefts, robbery and dacoity in running trains, forms for lodging reports with the police, are available with the train conductors, coach attendent, Guards and GRP escorting the Train, after proper filling of the forms, the same may be handed over to the one of the officers mentioned above for registration of the report at th next police station. Passengers are not required to break their journey for lodging their reports with the Police, forms are also available at RPF posts.

LOCKERS:
(i)Lockers are provided at Lucknow and Muzaffarpur on this Railway for the safe custody of valuable etc. of Railway passengers. The Charges for use of lockers are as under:
(a)For first 24 hrs. or part thereofRs.15
(b)Next 24 hrs. or part thereofRs.20
(c)For each subsquent 24 hrs. or part thereofRs.25
(ii)The use of lockers restricted to a maximum period of one week. Articles of dangerous, explosive, offensive or perishable nature shall not be permitted to be kept inside the locker. If any locker is not released within 30 days of the date of allotment, it is liable to be broken open and contents treated to be as unclaimed property.
