Three coaches of Narsapur Express caught fire on Sunday 13.11.2011.
The fire is believed to have broken out in the S-13 coach of Narsapur Express which was parked on Platform No 6 of the railway station.
Before the officials could find out the source of smoke that was emanating from the train, fire spread to the adjacent coaches S-12 and S-11.
However, the railway personnel immediately swung into action and detached S-11 coach from the train.
In addition to the fire extinguishing facilities at the station, fire tenders were rushed to station.
The fire department and railway personnel were able to extinguish the fire in an hour.
No one was injured in the fire accident as the train was empty and was scheduled to depart later. however, the accident triggered tension and panic among the passengers.
The cause of fire was not known immediately.
