Sri K.H.Muniyappa, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways flagged off the new Intercity Express Train between Bidar and Hyderabad today (10th Sep. 2012) at a function held at Bidar Railway Station in the presence of Sri N. Dharam Singh, Hon’ble Member of Parliament & Ex. Chief Minister of Karnataka fulfilling the announcement made in the current year railway budget. Sri Sunil Wallayapure, Hon’ble Minister for Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka; Sri Rajendra Varma, Hon’ble Chairman, Dr. Babu Jagjeevan Ram Leather Industries Development Corporation; Sri Rahim Khan, Hon’ble MLA; Sri Eshwara Khandre, Hon’ble MLA; Sri Prabhu Chawan, Hon’ble MLA; Sri Bandeppa Khashempur, Hon’ble MLA; Sri Rajasekhara Patil, Hon’ble MLA; Sri Raghunatha Rao Malkapure, Hon’ble MLC; other public representatives. Local public attended the function in large number. Sri G.N. Asthana, General Manager, South Central Railway welcomed the gathering and spelt out the plans of South Central Railway for developing rail transport infrastructure in parts of Karnataka under its
jurisdiction. The new train was welcomed at Zaheerabad Railway Station by Smt Dr. J. Geetha Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Major Industries, Sugar, Commerce & Export Primotion, Govt. of AP, Sri Nandi Yellaiah, Hon,ble MP (RS), Sri Suresh Kumar Shetkar, Hon’ble MP (Zaheerabad). Sri K.H.Muniyappa, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways and Sri N. Dharam Singh, Hon’ble Member of Parleament & Ex. Chief Minister of Karnataka also joined them at Zaheerabad.
Train No. 17009 Bidar-Hyderabad Intercity Express will depart Bidar at 07 00 hrs daily except Sundayand arrive Hyderabad at 10 25 hrs on the same day. In the return direction, Train No. 17010 Hyderabad-Bidar Intercity Express will depart Hyderabad at 18 45 hrs daily except on Saturdays and arrive Bidar at 22 15 hrs onthe same day. This Train will have one AC Chair car, twelve General Second Class Sitting , two Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches, Totaling to Fifteen coaches. Enroute, this train will stop at Zaheerabad, Kohir,Vikarabad, Shankarpalli, Lingampalli, Sanathnagar and Begumpet in both the directions.
Sri K.H. Muniyappa, Hon’ble MOSR announced that the train will stop at Kohir also with immediate effect. The train received standing ovation of the commuters at en-route stations who showed their excitement over the introduction of this new train which fulfils their long cherished aspiration.
